Software Engineers at Smart Technology Solutions Limited (STS) have designed and developed a fully operational mobile payments solution. It was first demonstrated at Cartes in Paris, earlier this month.
The demo showcased STS’ G8 software, running on an Android tablet paired with a portable chip and PIN reader, offering a functionally rich and highly flexible mobile payment acceptance solution.
Developed for larger enterprises with high transaction volumes, the solution integrates into an organisations’ existing in-store payments system and will provide more payment options for customers, while providing mobility for the merchant to make targeted sales, reduce queuing times and improve customer service.
The flexibility of the solution means that it can support a variety of options and functions such as multiple PIN pad models, contactless transaction acceptance and a choice of acquirers, ensuring that G8’s unique selling point of offering maximum choice remains an integral part of the new software solution.
Howard Buck, Development Leader at STS, said, “We decided to create an enterprise level Android payment solution as it had become clear to us that there is a distinct lack of Android tablet payments options within the industry. We had customers wanting an alternative to Windows based systems and as STS is known for its state-of-the-art products, we wanted to ensure that we were able to stay at the forefront of innovation and provide our customers with a mobile payment solution that would meet all their needs. We were delighted to receive so much positive feedback from delegates at Cartes. The ease of operation and fast transaction speeds were regularly cited.”
